What do you recommend for extensively metastacised lung cancer in a 55 year old male?
mets in pelvis, stomach, intestines, lymph system, spinal column (not cord), 1x kidney and possible mets on pericardium, right lung, liver and pancreas? 2yrs of various chemos and commencing experimental vaso-inhibitor drugs in 4-5 weeks. given 4-6 weeks to live in oct. 2009. nil radiotherapy. previous use of Aboriginal tribal medicine, but no other herbal medicine. ceased cholesterol medication upon diagnosis and continuing hard physical acitvities on non-chemo days. as you can probably tell, there arent many more options, so any help would be much appreciated. Thank You.

Guess now it is time for supportive therapy and it is unlikely to have a cure. Pain relief is very important other than that allow the person to have good quality life allowing him to have comfortable life optimizing the conditions he has. He should be allowed to spend his rest of life with loved ones and keeping him happy without much suffering and sorrow...

If you could live to be 150 yrs old would you want to?I recently read that 20 yrs from now modern medicine could have people living to 150yrs old. I just don't see how you could have much quality of live at that age.

There are almost as many different types of cancer as there are people. No two are alike, so not one treatment is going to work for all cases.

Authors should be free to write about alternative medical treatments that they personally found useful for a minor ailment, but claiming a recipe cures all forms of stage 4 cancer, or any other serious terminal illness, is unethical. Especially if the hub is plugging a book with the same unsound...
