Which One is Your Healthier Choice – Butter or Margarine? (Minimum 150 Words)
My choice would be butter over margarine any day. With all the synthetic chemicals used to produce margarine who knows where they came from, or even if they won't cause cancer ten or twenty years from now? Also a big no-no is the amount of preservatives used in the process. And you can't forget the taste. Most margarine leave kind of a waxy after taste, that i would just rather not deal with. Besides i'm old school, my parents, and grandparents have grown up leading healthy life styles and have had real butter on the bread at just about every meal. But whatever your choice is I can live with that, after all it's your opinion. Thanks
Butter is better. Margerine was created as a cheap substitute, and that's exactly what it is. Some claim its chemistry is almost identical to plastic, which wouldn't surprise me.
I'm among those who grew up on margerine, unfortunately, but perhaps I ate little enough to avoid the serious consequences associated with chemical-based food...so far, so good. Butter, on the other hand, is made from real food. It has natural components, some of which probably haven't even been discovered yet, as new nutrients are being discovered all the time. (Who ever heard of antioxidants or phytonutrients 50 years ago?)
But beyond that, the flavor issue seals the deal. Butter is better. Butter contains the natural components of milk, and you can tell if you really stop and savor the flavor.
I suppose vegans could argue that margerine is good for cows. I say we can be good to cows without swearing off the healthful products they provide...we just have to decide to do it. I've heard the argument that humans are the only animal that drink another animal's milk...as if that's a bad thing! Humans do lots of things other animals don't do; that doesn't make it wrong. Milk is actually a nearly perfect food for human beings, nutritionally, and it would be crazy to give it up as a source of nourishment.
...Whereas if margerine ceased production tomorrow, our race would be better off.
The question of whether it is healthier to eat butter or margarine is a confusing one. One day research comes out proving that butter is a healthier choice, the next day another set of research proves that margarine is healthier. Professional tennis... read more
Margarine is only one chemical away from being plastic. We did it in college chem. Its actually pretty cool. The human body was not ment to ingest synthetic chemicals. If the earth didn't put in here then its not for your body. duh
It is always healthies to choose the item with the least amount of processing and fewer ingredients, as close to nature as possible... and that would be butter. If you can find it, raw butter is even better.
