Have you ever made real-life decision based on a significant dream you had at night?
Do some of your night time dreams cross over to affect your daily life? Have you ever made any decision because of a dream you had at night? What was the dream and how did it help you make a real life decision? ie. I bought my house because of a dream I had (for real!)
Hello Violet Flame. Hmmm, not remembering art class I peeked rediscovering violet is cooler than red. I should have known being a student of Dr. Seuss. Seems from the posthumously published book - "My Many Colored Days", he attributes that color to this quote: "On Purple Days, I'm Sad. I groan. I drag my tail. I walk alone."
Please do not misunderstand. I reference to this book of knowledge used worldwide for education, therapeutic device, and well, a simply fun read too, yet see you offer contrast of inference with flame. I like that! A mystery for the wise and the seeker too.
Back to the question asked. I appreciate your home buying experience. I find it intriguing regarding manifestation of humanly desires be they dreams of what sort may not be known - day dream, dream of delta brain wave levels, and the foggy dreamlike quality of 'theta' near betwixt and between sleep and awake. That is when this author's poems are best.
A student of meditation for many years we learn mysteries with dreams. To honestly answer this question I propose a thought experiment. Shall we instead use the antithesis asking, the thought to be a stage of awake being brain wave activity beta and alpha might could be the dream and its manifestation is a form of acceptance we label as acknowledgement with something 'dreamt?' or a slower brain wave activity known as 'delta?'
Quandaries within science probe seeking the dream(s) as answers or dream(s) as the answered. Unfortunately other than fiction such as the Matrix, of course the Wizard of Oz and other films there appears only speculation. Ponder that color violet with longer wave length and near to X-Rays vs. Red, of much shorter intensity, of which lay much closer to the microwave.
Both offer healing in some form and both offer destruction in form or the constant contrast of good vs. evil, yet it is polar to both ends of the spectrum(s) of color being Violet or Red. Ponder the colors of dreams too, since they relate to an intensity, even though the brain wave activity is slow within delta. Where do the colors come from with those variances in wave lengths? The Cosmos?
I do not know if I answered. The answer for me is when conscious or awake, well, oddly that is the dream. Thank you for allowing a bit of wandering. And, I ask forgiveness as I now see the space this consumed - smile.

Hi Tim, I'm glad the question intrigues you. I wonder whether you might like my hub about The Matrix And The Dreaming Reality, in which, it agrees with your view that this waking life is indeed a dream! I long to wake up to my true reality... xo
I've had dreams that gave me insight into how to act in certain situations. The other night I had a dream where someone I don't like instigated a fight with me, but everyone took the other person's side when I retaliated. When I woke up I was so relieved it wasn't real, but it made me think that I should take the high road in the future.
that's a very good learning from your dreams! It's really not worth the emotion. Better out of conflict then in, any day! I know what you mean, my dreams have been teaching me loads over th years also! Do u write your dreams down? 4 future reference?
Okay here we go down memory lane. When I was a teenager I had a dream about a young man in my biology class. I dreamed we were a couple and in love. Until that night, I had not paid much attention to him. The dream was so real that the next day when I saw him, I had a sudden crush on him. I was absolutely drawn to him.
So in real life I started paying attention to him, flirting etc. We ended up together for about 18 months...and I can honestly say he was the first young man that I was really in love with and it all started with a dream. I often wonder what happened to him (as this was 40 years ago...ors so)
wow that's so nice. So I guess it's safe to say that your dream played a hand of matchmaking for you. I must say I never had a dream like that in my entire dreaming history. Perhaps your dream was a prophetic one, it took u into your joint future...
I've done this a few times in life. I also had dreams about the house I live in. When it first went on the market I thought - oh, we'd never be able to afford that and I didn't give it much thought. Then a day or two later I had a dream that I was walking around in the house. I thought well, just for fun I'll call the realtor and go explore the house - I'd just like to see it inside because I had always admired it. We were looking for a house, so why not right?
Imagine my shock when I walked around in the house and it looked almost exactly as I had dreamed it - including the hidden staircase in the kitchen!
I knew then I had to make an offer. I figured we'd lose, but the owner chose our offer over another even though it was slightly lower. I believe that law of attraction was definitely at work in this scenario and that my dream led me to where I was meant to be. When I walked around in here the first time I longed for this house - and it was apparently meant to be.
what an amazing story ChristinS! It's wonderful how our dreams call out to us to pay more attention! Would you consider writing a hub about it? I am going to write my story about my house and we can link up? :-D
This may seem ... odd.
I was 15. It was January. In a dream I heard "April ties the knots of love" repeatedly. I woke up saying the phrase. I wrote it down. I had it impressed on a coin at DisneyWorld. I carried the coin around with me.
During that spring, I looked for a girl named April, assuming that she and I would "tie the knot of love." I never met April.
During April, I looked for love. Knot, I mean, not.
I lost the coin.
I still remember the phrase. Maybe it hasn't happened yet ...
that's so very interesting! One night, I had the name "Paul Pulitzer" shouted into my ear. Then I had a series of dreams of this Paul, of the two of us growing old together. But I never met him in real life. Maybe you should write a novel about it xo
Dreams, as far as I understand, are a byproduct of a process that allows our brain to decide which information needs to be stored and which needs to be discarded. Sometimes some of those arrangements of information processed as knowledge are embedded deep in our minds at a subconscious level. It may or may not leave a trail in our dream. If it does and if I remember when I wake up I definitely try to make a meaning out of it.
There are few times dreams helped me solve some complex problems in life. I suspect most of us make use of information presented in dreams at some level.
fantastic, would you care to share a little example how a dream help solving a complex problems in life for you? I am really interested in real examples of how our dream actually help us living a better life in the positive way....thanks xo
