How do you feel about Marijuana?
Many people use this drug recreationally or medically. What are your thoughts on the use and distribution of the drug recreationally or medically? Should it be legal in either scenario? Should there be an age limit if recreationally legal? Does it really help in better ways than traditional medicine?
Right this minute when I saw this question I thought if it would take away the horrible arthritis pain in my knees I would be temped to try get some for that reason only and can understand people trying it to relieve pain. I don't agree with drug taking otherwise , I have never smoked either.
I think it should be available on prescription for pain relief as I know it is good for arthritis and other problems. As a young sufferer it has crossed my mind on many occasion to look in to it. But it's not something I'd do for fun. I've had problems in the passed with prescription pain med addiction and well still do so I understand that side of it. However it is not as dangerous as some of the pain med's I've been prescribed in the passed so why it cannot be classified for prescription use is beyond me
If it is for medical purposes I am all for it. I have live life in pain with my back and I will welcome this.
Everything can be abuse even the traditional pain medicine.
You are right and I've been to that point and back many times over now but my Dr still thinks its OK to prescribe me the meds I'm addicted to.
It is very good for pain relief and there are actually other ways to use this for medical purposes. It does NOT have to be smoked. I'm not sure what the exact content is that actually helps with pain relief, but I know it can be extracted and turned into oils for consumption. I'm pretty sure it would be a pill or something like Fish Oil tabs and what not. You would have to do a little more research on it, but I know for a fact you don't need to smoke it for pain relief. The only this is that it obviously has to be extracted from the Marijuana plant.
It depends on how powerful the grade is. Let's face it, some of the weed out there today is extremely powerful. And with recreational, the more powerful, the better. Can people function rationally under the influence of the most powerful weed out there? Some may be able to if they have been smoking for a while, but not a neophite. So on the basis of that, I would say, be careful about making it legal. Unless you want to see more problems and accidents.
I used to smoke weed or marijuana for many years and finally when i quit i realized and i am stuck in many things and didnt grow up as i should have. I say its really dangerous because at first you think its pretty awesome to smoke marijuana as it gives away your pain for a certain time but as time passes on you become an irritating person and you keep on losing your good habits and actual abilities to stand in the society.
There are so many disadvantages;
-it makes you very slow
-you start think on a topic and you keep on thinking deeply but you can do anything
- you are making wonderful and creative plans everyday but it wont let you accomplish
- you lie all the time
Overall its not a good habit and it cannot be used as medicine.
Those may be the effects it has on you, but it effects everyone differently.
True, some creative people have smoked well into their 70's and 80's and have created masterpieces, products, movies and technologies that you enjoy using every day. It's totally individual.
no dear i really observed this in the society as i was a keen observer and whenever we were smoking marijuana in our community I used to be silent and just watching others what funny things they are doing and i enjoyed a lot this way but its no good
Josh, you are just VERY ignorant. Please be an informed commenter on my Hub site.
You asked a question to general public so anyone can answer. And by the way WHO are you to decide whether someone is informed or not?
if you dont like any answer then just ignore it and dont get offended. Its key to success here on hub
You are clearly uninformed if you think that marijuana effects everyone the same. Good advice, sir.
I am all for marijuana legalization. I was a recreational user for years and would recommend that all adults give it a try sometime. I think anything can be abused, be it drugs, alcohol, gambling, or any of the thousands of vices we find throughout our society. People will never stop smoking marijuana. Making it legal would destroy one section of a dangerous black market, save millions in law enforcement , and collect millions in tax dollars.
Personally, I used to love the stuff! I really didn't see the problem until one of my friends went bonkers after having used consistently for about three years. he would smoke a joint or five every day until he completely lost himself. Granted there may be some other factors that may have been in play in his situation, I have never touched the stuff again.

As a consequence of seeing a post in the political and social area discussions, I decided to do a Hub Pages search for marijuana. There are quite a few published hubs about it. So, are Hubbers allowed to write about it, or not? The hubs I saw had Google ads displayed on them, too. I am confused.

I'm curious, will I have to turn off my google ads, hubpages ads? I've seen a few hubs and some have them turned off and others still have ads on. I plan to follow the guidelines and be strictly informational and provide disclaimers saying not to do illegal activities. Can someone please help me...
