Bananas are a potassuim rich food and has many health benefits such as preventing high blood pressure, protects again vitamin A deficiency, has an antacid effect, decreases the risk of kidney cancer and also decreases the risk of age-related macular degeneration.
Although everyone cites bananas, I prefer to recommend Low Soduim V8 juice-- it is much higher in potassium with fewer calories/sugar and is high in anti-oxidants. Also, dairy products fish and most green leafy vegetables/ fruits are high. One serving of V8 juice has over 600mg of potassium!!
