What foods do you consider healthy, the foods low in calories or foods containing nutritional value?

The best healthy food is to have low calories high nutrient density food. This means it doesn't only provide a lot of essential nutrients to our body, but also ensure controlled calorie intake within our daily energy requirement. Foods which have high nutrient density include fortified milk, whole wheat/multigrain baked products, fruits and vegetables.

I think the answer is a combination of both low calories and high nutrition density. Fruits and vegetables are generally lower in calories than the other food choices we make and are packed with nutrition and fiber.

Definitely foods of high nutritional value. Just looking at the calories of a food is far too simplistic. Eating less calories from nutritionally devoid food with a high glycemic effect will be more likely to lead to both weight gain and health problems than eating more calories from foods with lots of nutrition in them.

Luckily, this is a hit 2 birds with one stone situation. Most healthy foods are lower in calories and at the same time have more nutritional content. Think of fruits , vegetables , legumes , lean proteins. Actually you cannot overeat fruits and vegetables, you will be way too full before consuming too many calories from broccoli or apples.
