Speaking from experience, exercising whether playing sports or working out or other physical activity (hiking, biking) can cause wear and tear on your body on muscles, joints, tendons, and ligaments in the long term.
As a result, a person must learn to balance their exercise routine and try not to over do it -- (easier said than done) and learn how to train smarter and more effectively.
Like most athletes, you undoubtedly want to lower your chances of incurring an injury while participating in your favourite sport. Injuries decrease the amount of time you can spend in leisure activities, lower your fitness, downgrade competitive performance, and can lead to long term health problems such as arthritis.
