Hello Dr. I am midle aged female diagnosed with AS due to chronic inflammation & erosion of...
the SI joints. Have had unrelated cervical surgery discectomies at C3-4,4-5,5-6, & 6-7. Although no AS type inflammation has been found on the spine, I've been informed that AS can impede fusion after discectomy, particularly on the lower spine. Is there an alternative for physicians to consider to treat a chronic, symptomatic broad-based central posterior disc protrusion at L5-S1 for an AS patient?
