Scientists do not fully understand what causes some people to develop diabetes and others to be seemingly immune to it. Certainly, taking steps to improve your overall physical and mental health will lower your odds of contracting diabetes, but the same can be said of just about any type of major disease. There is obviously a genetic factor involved that is yet to be understood. So, while boosting your immune system will certainly decrease your odds of developing any number of diseases, there is no guarantee that it will prevent you from getting diabetes in the long run.
