No you should not lie Steve, even though telling the truth can get you into trouble, telling a lie can get you into worst trouble. Trust me, I've told many lies and it broke my gf's heart. So telling the truth can sting a little however they will get over it. Telling a lie and letting it build will ruin everything.
I am not capable of being a liar, when has happened the discomfort that I felt made me look the way of truth, which is always the best, whatever is the result.
