How could a boy of 17 with kleptomania be treated without medication?
A boy who showed kleptomania signs at age 6 and was punished, but never seriously repeated stealing, has flared up again in teenage with serious incidents. Parents are well off and provides the boy with whatever his needs are.
Cognitive behavioral therapy would be a good way to treat him. If he is currently on medication for kleptomania, don't take him off of it until you talk to your doctor.
Find a psychotherapist who specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy. They will take him through a step by step process that will help "ween" him off of his tenancies.
