I think with us enough exercise, can reduce cholesterol in our bodies.
Depending on your age, exercise is one of the best ways to reduce bad or LDL cholesterol. The other way is to take red yeast rice, which decreases the LDL cholesterol and increase the HDL cholesterol... however, there may be side effects which may affect the muscles and liver, so if you do take this, you need to be very careful. Good Luck!
I posted on this today at www.healthspan101.com. Here is a summary:
1. Reduce the amount of fatty (red) meat in your diet. Reduce the amount of processed foods you eat. Reduce your consumption of vegetable oil and products containing it.
2. Switch to olive oil. It helps lower the levels of LDL cholesterol while keeping HDL the same.
3. Eat more fruits, vegetables, fish and whole grains. A diet high in fiber and low in fat is a must.
4. Exercise regularly.
5. Quit smoking.
6. Drink less alcohol.
There is also a book that addresses this directly, called Cholesterol Down, by Janet Brill. I have not tried it but know several people who did. If you can manage to follow the directions in her book you can really lower your cholesterol quickly.
