Why do others have an impact on how I accept myself?
On self-confidence and doubts as well
we are social beings. if we get too much negative feedback, we will become ill, even physically ill.
in childhood, we get our sense of who we are from our parents. as we become adults and have successes dealing with the world, our parents' influence becomes less important. we can get some negative feedback without doubting ourselves too much if we have a strong network of supporters. good close friends should be cheerleaders, spurring us on to our bests.

Why are people offended when others don't accept their faith? If you are sure, why be upset?Christ never tried to convince anyone to believe in him. He had a purpose, lived it out and people believed on the power of God within him. Why get so defensive?
