What does it mean when city water is depressurized?
We just had a notice posted on door to...
boil our water because due to some issue the water has been depressurized...is that going to really make it safe enough to drink?
Boiling water has long been considered and accepted as a method to ensure the safety of questionable water prior to consuming it. It works to kill potential bacteria and contagions by destroying them with heat.
If a city water supply becomes depressurized, there is a flaw or defect in the system somewhere that has allowed open-air access to the water. Water supplies are kept pressurized in an enclosed system to prevent contamination.
