Beets are a good blood builder. You can eat them with vinegar but its best to eat them plain and drink all the juice that comes with them.

Hi, if you have been on an iron supplement for 5 months and its not working you should go back to your doctor and get another form of iron or an increase to the current one. Normally Iron should build up in the body within 6 to 8 weeks. Five months is an awful long time having to cope with this problem. I do know as I have been anaemic all my life and it's no joke!

Nettle is a wonderful herb for building up iron levels. The level of iron in it is relatively low, but it is a highly bioavailable form. I have used it as a tea for many patients with great success. In particular I used it for my sister during her pregnancy. She took Iron supplements, injections and changed her diet with no effect on her blood tests or sense of well being. The tea worked wonders. Her doctor now shares my recipe with all his anaemia patients. Here's the recipe if you are interested

Hi, If you have been on iron tablets for 5months I would definitely recommend to go back to the doctor and see if they would increase the dose or change the iron tablet you are on.
A good supplement you can also try is  NUTRILITEā„¢ Chewable Iron provides iron from ferrous fumarate, an iron source which is readily absorbed by the body, and one of the best tolerated nutritional organic forms of iron. These tablets have a delicious natural raspberry-cherry flavour, and no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives are added. NUTRILITE Chewable Iron food supplement may supply the necessary iron that is frequently lacking in the diet.
Also if you can add spinach to your daily diet even in small amounts will be very helpful as they are rich in iron. Take care, good luck.

The problem is not with your blood, its with your "LIVER" ... and Digestion.

Your Liver is not working properly ... Make it work ... Do light Exercise, in the mornings.Think about Good things in Life .... Try, eating EASILY DIGESTIBLE FOODS, like VEGETABLES, FRIED FISH, FRUITS, and PANI PURI ... See what your Digestive System can easily Digest ... Do not take Chatkhary type of Food full of red chillies and spices ...

Keep your Food simple, and take it in Small Portions ... have ten meals a day, a small meal after every hour ... when you feel the last has been digested ... TAKE ISPAGHOL with all your Major Meals.

DO NOT TAKE Butter and Ghee ... try Canola Oils instead, do not take any type of Kachcha Fats in large quantities. Avoid French Fries, Eggs and Halwa Puris, Parathas ... get you Weight to your structures Normal ...

Have a Positive Attitude in Life ... Read this message till its stated becomes your daily habit.

Remember, raise your hemoglobins naturally ... meaning, steadily ... and you will be fit as a fiddle in a few months time.

Another important fact is that the metabolism of some people is genetically programmed for lower than what is generally considered a normal 12 or 14 reading ... if, you are in that category, do not try giving yourself a new Chemicals based  Metabolic system.
