How to convince someone to go see a doctor?
I have a friend that has been showing some weird symptoms, so he choosed to use alternative medicine (btw I have no problem with alternative medicine) he has this idea that doctors only want your money.... but his symptoms include bruises without reason bleeding nose and dry mouth.
Explaining how important is the health for his life and give it example of a friend or a family member how difficult it is with a disease discover when it was too late.........
educate him that seeing a doctor isn't that bad, and give him advices or examples where some of your friends where cured by a doctor
you can play a game in which you are good....now you should keep the price of winning in such a way that the looser has to do whatever the winner says.....for a couple of time you loose and when you win...you ask him to come to see a doctor with you.....and when you two reach to the doctor ....you remind him about the bet and tell him......he has to see the doctor insted of you....he would have no choice there....and your work would be done.....and make sure you pay for the first visit..
Agree with him. Tell him only an idiot would go to the doctor and that he has proven himself an acceptable candidate.
If your friend is running through some problem, he should certainly visit a Physician, ,Specialist or MBBS Doctor.. With the symptoms you have mentioned early medication is advised which will be useful for your friend and the disease will be cured. If he does not agree to go to the Doctor, explain him about the consequencies like further deterioration of health , involvement of huge expenditure on his treatment beside a longer period will be required for restoration of his normal health.
I could maybe understand if he did not want to see a doctor if he had a small problem; but his problem does not sound too good. Have you tried to tell him that you care about him, and by him not caring about himself is upsetting you.
Scare them straight. Better them be scared and angry at you, then badly hurt or dead. Tell them it's important.
I'm worried your friend might be afraid of the diagnosis a doctor would give him. The symptoms you describe also appear in the case of leukemia.
As other people mentioned, try to agree with him while suggesting that doctors can actually help. Try not to scare him though. Maybe perhaps give him some medical articles to read on his own. Try to get other people to help as well because what you're describing sounds bad.
I hope for the best!
