Crown tooth sensitive to heat, why?
I had a root canal done and the crown placed on a pre-molar. 4 weeks later eating and drinking hot stuff this crown is hurting. How can that be if the nerve has been removed?
I told my Dentist and he is convinced that I am making this up because God forbid that he might be wrong or doesn't want to take responsibility.
It isn't the adjacent tooth because when I thumb on the crown it hurts. When I eat nuts or any hard food it hurts when chewing on it.
What can cause this?
I am not a dentist, however it sounds to me like the root canal was not done completely or you have an infection under the tooth. sometimes a crack in the tooth that is not covered by the crown can cause a problem as well.
Have the dentist do an xray or if he won't see another dentist that will. i recently had an infection under a crowns tooth and it was sensitive to hot and cold.
Thanks for the reply! We did an Xray and there was no cracking or infection. This is really weird. I have 4 more crowns to be laced soon and am concern that i will experience the same problem.
Ontop of this the dentist became so defensive as if I am making this dull pain up. I don't know what else to do.
