How do you deal with a Bipolar 1 break with mania?
One of my siblings is in lock down right now having her first psychosis break in reality. She doesn't know what is going on and she doesn't trust anyone. We have her medicated and safe but it's hard when they don't want to see you and don't trust you. I wish she would come out of it faster.
Hey, Dustin. Just hold on, that's the best you can do. Keep yourself in a positive and loving frame of mind so that when your sister comes down, she can come to you and feel safe and secure. I know how painful it can be (from BOTH sides), but patience and love on your part will make it much easier for her. And, unfortunately, there's no way to know how long it will take. Be supportive, loving, and patient.
Peace, and all the best to you.
Thanks Motown, it's been very hard for everyone. She is not coming out very quickly and each day has new adventure of what she may do or say during visiting hour. Just hoping she will enjoy the tails to come when she is doing better.
