    The key to losing weight has 3 Elements.  Many people think that weight loss happens if you expend more calories than you take in.  That is a factor.  Many people you truly can't lose weight and keep it off without daily exercise. This too is important. 

    The Key however to losing weight is knowing the reason for putting on weight.  Stress is what causes us to eat.  Once our body starts dealing with stress it releases chemicals that cause weight gain and a slowing of processes that help us burn off calories.  With this being the case we gain weight but as soon as stress enters our lives we start to eat again and therefore the yo-yo dieting that causes even more weight gain.

    So in order to have effective permanent weight loss we must get control of our mind and maintain balanced schedule in order to learn to control stress and keep the negative stress at bay.  Once this is attained we need to find the proper nutrition such as a high protein low carb diet so that we keep up energy, stave off hunger and promote weight loss.  Then lastly, we need to exercise regularly, 30 minutes a day of cardio with 20 minutes three times a week of toning/weight lifting exercises.  These will ensure positive weight loss and control that will become a way of life and keep us healthy.

    Follow an eating plan that is sensible and you can stick to. Prevention has one that is working quite well for me and my husband.

    Even if you aren't into losing weight, we all need some activity. Find an exercise regimen or sport you like and do it. I tried beginners yoga and absolutely love it!

    And like Carlon Michelle said, you have to have your mind in the game. If you're mind's not in it, you won't be able to resist the siren song of the brownies. Once you're determined, though, you'll look at the fat and calories in those brownies, and say, Hmmm, I could eat one of those or a whole plate of chicken, brown rice, and veggies. I'll still be hungry after the brownie, but not the meal. No brainer! (Most of the time.)

    LOL, on the pic!  Anyone who can squat on the scale like that probably doesn't need to lose much weight! big_smile I love it!

    Weight-lose is a disciplined thing. There's all these lose weight fast schemes that people buy into because they want to lose a lot of weight in a short time with very little effort.

    Ultimately the same principle of healthy diet and exercise still rings true. The issue is that some people don't fully commit to those 2 things and assume they don't work. When it comes to exercise, quality beats quantity every time.  When it comes to diet, doing the little things like eating fruit instead of candy and skipping the dipping sauce (just examples) may lead into the right direction towards weight-loss.
