Would your life be better or worse if you knew the day, time, and place that you were going to die?

I am prepared to die no matter when or where, because it means that I will be able to live near God.

My answer is not better and also worse.

First, not better: we all know we're going to die someday, somewhere, and for the most part we don't think of it often or use that fact to motivate ourselves to enjoy our lives more in the meantime.  I forgot who, but somebody said, "Why dread the thought of throwing away life all at once but yet give no heed to throwing it away by part and piecemeal?"

Second, worse: knowing exactly when something ends takes a lot of fun out of it.  You know the old adage "time flies when you're having fun?"  Well, yes, because you're living "in the moment."  And eternity is one moment after another, merging seamlessly, endlessly.  Think about when you're making love (not just mere sex) - doesn't time just disappear?  The French (I know, the wacky French . . .) have a nickname for intimate climax: "Little Death."  When I first heard of that I thought ooh, gross, but there IS a poetry to it.  So, not knowing when I was going to die would remove an essential part of life, which would be the immediate timelessness.  And also the mystery, the wonder, the romance of living . . .

P.S. I already live near God. (S)He is with me with every breath I take.  Somebody else once said something like, "The world is full of miracles, all of them patiently waiting for us to notice them."  I don't think of Heaven so much as a place as a state of mind, a state of being.

I think it would be worse. I would take foolish risks, have plenty of anxiety, and probably go insane, more so than others believe of me now. It would hurt more people than aid anyone.
