Do people tend to use drug addiction as an excuse for the wrongful things they've done to another?
Good question. In my opinion, yes. While drug addiction is a big problem, all to often people use it as an excuse for their actions, rather than taking responsibility for their actions.
Of course they do-- that's what being an addict means.....Drug addicts will lie, steal, cheat or even kill to get the drugs they need and not even give a second thought to what they are doing to others, let alone themselves.....the need for the drug drowns out everything else inside them-- that's why it's called addiction and it is not a pretty picture. Oh and this applies to prescription drugs and alcohol as well as crack cocaine and heroin.
I think yes, mostly they are. They are too afraid to accept the fact, so they tend to deny it to protect themselves.
