Should they make doctors accountable for giving addicts prescription medication instead of rehab.
Doctors do know when their patients are addicts and should recommend rehab instead of meds. They do have a certain rsponsiblity in providing the best treatmnt according to the hippocratic oath.
It is always about the money and the long term treatment plans that keep addicts addicted. By keeping them addicted, the pharmaceutical companies get richer. They are killing people with these drugs they "claim" has health benefits, when in reality they make patience more dependent and less likely to kick any habits. They only gain another addiction..MEDS. It's sad how this trend is blatant in your face and no one seems to notice or care. I feel the same about non violent offenders who are refused rehab, just to be sent to prison, where the state earns X amount of money per prisoner. This is another BIG business that prey on our weaknesses and rights as human beings. good question. So YES doctors need to be held accountable. It is the same as misdiagnosing someone.
In some cases yes however the addict needs to take resposablity for there own addiction and recovery
