PPI's-changing from one to another can it possibly work? Could it be not enough acid??

Rarely have heartburn but last 1.5 months have had a bad issue with clearing my throat constantly and the feeling of Post Nasal drip. Coughing up stuff-clear and NOT. I had thought it was sinus issues when this FIRST occurred about 3 years ago. I had scope down nose done and nothing unusual so must be reflux related. Is it worth it to try another type of PPI? I thought Zegerid OTC but need 2 pills to match script strength-can I do that with all the sodium and is it worth it to try?
