   For prevention, eat enough citrus fruits and raw vegetables. The best natural antibiotics are the red grapefruit, olives and garlic.
   
   When the bad cold is already plaguing you - stay relaxed and have plenty of warm liquids. Chicken soup and herbal tea  can do miracles.
   
   If your nose gets stuffed, try making some sea salt dissolved in warm water.
   
   Use this solution as nose drops (turn your head back and get the drop in with pippette).

   I'm a big believer in supplementing with the amino acid L-glutamine to boost your immune system. I recommend taking at least 5g a day - more if you exercise intensely.
   
   If you already have a cold taking zinc supplements have been shown to shorten the duration of a cold. Elderberry has also shown some immunity boosting effects. I'm currently looking into some adrenal gland support supplements, which may also boost your immune response.
