    Can you hear tinnitus by listening to the ear of someone who experiences it?

    tinnitus is hearing sounds within your ear which don't correspond to and external sounds around you. It is often a buzzing or shrill sound. I experience intermittent tinnitus and have always wondered whether a person standing very close to me would also be able to hear it.

    No, it is a sound that only the person with tinnitus can hear.

    Thanks for replying Dubuquedogtrainer - I'm glad other people can't hear the noise in my ears, although I'm please to say it has quietened some since I had my wisdom teeth taken out. Maybe the teeth were somehow putting pressure on my ear canals.

 
working
