Should a Sheriff Encourage Women to get Guns for Self Defense?
A Sheriff in the Southeast US, recently encouraged women to get guns and learn how to use them for self defense. The story made national news. What do you think about this?
This happened in my county. Spartanburg, SC. The reason he said that sadly didn't get through to many. He is willing to admit that police are not always allowed or able to do there job fully and that they can not be everywhere at one time. He made this statement after a woman had been attacked and either raped or almost raped. We had a series of rapes at that time. He wanted to make sure that if a woman was in a bad situation she could protect herself. I don't see anything wrong with what he said. If people don't want a gun they don't have to own one or buy one just because he said that. Sheriff Chuck Wright is a good Sheriff and I am glad we have him. I love an honest man protecting us!
