Is there anything more selfish than suicide?

With this in the news right now, seemed like good time for ?   This seems like a way to relieve ones pain by inflicting unbearable emotional pain on others. A total disregard for the damage you created then left behind for others to deal with.

Yes. More selfish would be commiting suicide and taking other people with you. Because you are not thinking about what is best for them, you are placing your judgement above theirs and ignoring who they are.

I totally agree. I guess this is where the saying," misery enjoys company" comes from.

You seem to be forgetting one thing- the feelings of the suicidal person. They want out, and they feel like dying is the only way to do it. Based on your logic, anyone dying from any cause is selfish, because no matter how it happens, they leave a trail of sadness. Selfishness is doing things solely based on your wants. Suicidal people often feel as if they are worthless, and like they are a burden on others. So, in that sense, suicide can be a very selfless thing. Sad, of course, but never selfish.
