Muscle cells are unable to absorb glucose from blood in diabetes then why they gain weight?
The state of insulin resistance typical to the Type II diabetic means that all cells (not just muscle cells) have adapted in such a way as to prevent sugar from being shuttled into the cells via insulin.
All cells in the body are not equally insulin resistant though, so the glucose ends up in those that have less insulin resistant qualities. These happen to be the fat cells....so diabetics gain fat.
You should read the book "Why We Get Fat" by Gary Taubes...it's the best explanation on this other than his much larger book "Good Calories, Bad Calories" and thus is easier to read.
Check your sources, the muscle cells can use available glucose during exercise, but are not as efficient at other times due to insulin resistance or lack of insulin. The body tends to store excess glucose by converting it to fat...making it harder to use because fat has to be broken down by a more complex pocess.
Excellent question! Because, if the body cannot get the sugar it needs in the form of glucose for cellular metabolism the glucose will travel via the bloodstream to your liver to be converted to fat.

How fast does your body break down muscle cells for energy when it needs to do so?It's a fact that when your calorie intake is really low, your body will begin to break down your fat and muscle tissue for an emergency supply of energy. However, I don't know how fast it does this or even to what...
