Why it is that in today’s times of modern conveniences, people suffer from debilitating back pain?
In olden times, man bent and stooped, lifted extremely heavy bags and abused their backs severely since they had no choice.
What is this telling us?
It seems nothing helps the pain in our backs anymore.
The damage continues to grow worse, even with surgery, until the person ends up in a wheelchair.
What can be done to stop all of this?
If anyone has the answer to this, please let us know. I have severe back pain myself. I got some relief from epidural type shots in my back and cortisone shots in my shoulder. I can go to the chiropractor and get some relief when my back goes totally out and I am all stooped over and can barely walk. But there is nothing that has helped permanently. My last back doctor told me "back surgery" was still "ify". Sometimes it helps some people. And, sometimes it makes things worse.
I think it has to do with inacitivity. Maintaining a sitting position (in front of the computer, like I am right now, lol) leads to muscle imbalance where your back is tight but your stomach muscles are loose. If you continue this position daily for an extended period, then the muscle tightness will pull the joints out of alignment which leads to pain. I've had back pain for well over 3 years and didn't even find the cause of it until June 2011. Apparently, my left SI joint is jammed, leading to pelvic distortion. After numerous therapy in Canada including chiropractic adjustment, massage, and spinal decompression, I finally found some relief with medical acupuncture. I returned to my home in Yokohama, Japan in late March of this year and have been going to a acupuncture & moxibustion clinic since late May. I'm finally finding relief as my SI joint pain has diminished and my back has loosened up significantly.
