What is the difference between living in the head and living from the heart?
Have you recognized a distinction in yourself between 'living in the head' and 'living from the heart'?
I will be offline a few days, moving and being for a time a Workaway volunteer - so my response will be delayed.
Well at the moment I'm finding that 'living in the head' is really not serving me not the slightest.'Living in the heart' when I have the courage to do so serves me more than I have ever dreamed of but it does take a lot of faith sometimes to do so and courage. When we make decisions based on what our mind thinks is right we are using our analytical and logical mind which we do need in life. However there are some challenging and juicy situations in life that require us to make decisions from a more expanded state of awareness which can only be done by 'living from the heart'. We have to be careful that we don't let our mind dominate all our decisions as the ego can and will sometimes stop us from viewing things clearly and thus put us into a contracted state of awareness which inturn prevents us from seeing important clues or guidence that we would have otherwise seen if we'd looked at a situation from an expanded state of awareness by 'living from the heart'.
Wow! Marvelously written. What a gift that you shared - from the heart.
I definitely feel that I am a "live in the heart" kind of person. To me, the difference is simple. If you "live in the heart" you learn and experience more lessons in life by becoming more tuned into the heart and what it wants. Over time you become aware of how love changes everything in your life in just a moment's time. I believe that if you "live in the head" you are either ignoring your heart and its messages to you or you have not let it guide you often enough to be comfortable following its direction. I always feel that your heart leads you to places your brain would never allow you to go but once you are there, you learn more about yourself and your purpose. Empathy is learned this way. Sure, your heart can lead you into some silly, even embarassing decisions but I think there are great things to learn in those moments. I don't think anyone should be afraid to follow their heart because it can lead you to the one thing that makes your life complete. If you always do what's "logical" that would be a very dull life.
