    Haunty, a daunting request.  Let me put it together in my head first and I'll give it a shot.  Today thecountry is so modernized and Americanized its very different than when I lived there but culturally the people and customs remain pretty much the same.  Look for it

    I would definitely say food, The food in Thailand is a lot testier and delicate.

    * They speak different languages.
    * They practice a different religion.
    * Quality of living standards differ.
    * Wages differ greatly between the US and Thailand.
    * Thailand is a smaller country.
    * The food is different.

    Female ammenities and pleasures are much less expensive.
    Shampoo and style hair:  100 baht (US $3.50) includes tip
    Manicure and pedicure:    200 baht (US$ 7.00) with tip
    Oil massage for one hour:  450 baht (US$14.60) with tip
    Thai massages are even less
