Ever felt sick from stress? What do you do to de-stress?

Completely guilty of this the other day. I was actually nauseous from stress, and had to go through a number of things to try and de-stress, before I hit jackpot with my bowl of soup. No kidding. What do you do when things are getting to be a little too much?

I shadow box to get rid of stress. Every punch in the air seems to break through the huge lump of stress I accumulated after a busy work week. I also visit the nearest pond and have a swim. No other activity relaxes me more.  By the way, welcome to Hubpages and may you enjoy your stay here. God bless!

Oh swimming in a pond would do it for me too, I'm sure. Very calming, just you and nature! Thanks so much for the welcome, I'm so glad I joined. Great community and platform for writers. Take care and thanks for your answer! God bless you, too!

Sometimes, yes. I make time to just sit down and read a book with a hot cup of tea. After 3 hours, I feel a lot better and the book is usually done in 4 hours.

What a great way to destress, submersing yourself in another world and hopping out of it enlightened in some way. I can only imagine. I am quite the scatter-brain when I'm stressed so I wouldn't be able to draw enough of my focus. Thanks, Leah!

Stress is sometimes our own doing. Worrying about things that we cannot change, at least not at the moment. Just stop what your are doing and thinking about. Take some deep breaths. You might notice that you are holding your breath which causes more stress on your body.

Do nothing for about 20 minutes if you are not at work. Tell yourself that you are not going to think about anything for a few minutes. Take a look outside at the trees or to the heavens. It's just a point of doing something different and not pressuring yourself. Take time out for you and find your space to relax. Good luck!

A great reminder. Yes, worry can cause such adverse affects to our health and well-being, sometimes it's good to remember to simply -- breathe. Great answer. Thanks twig22bend!

You are so welcome. Now if we both remember to take those deep breaths and help ourselves to relax we will both have great days ahead.
