Does our ego tell us to take more of the pie than share equally with our brother

Does our ego tell us to take more of the pie than share equally with our brothers & sisters?

Is this a survival trait we all have but are not aware of? Or are some humans finding enjoyment taking more than necessary to feel more accomplished or better than the next?

I believe you are confusing ego with greed, my friend.

I think this to be selfishness more than any other emotion.

Ego would be something everyone has & uses everyday not really a emotion but a defense system in our mind creating identities/walls& trying to be better than your neighbor in a sense.
