When your computer is calling to you, how do you motivate yourself to say "no" or "not now" to it?

I just walk away and do whatever else needs to be done. The computer will still be there when you have completed all of your other tasks. smile

Thanks JThomp! Yup, it's all about self-discipline, that's for sure. I'm prodding myself as I type. smile

I j ust see it as a tool of procrastination and like JThom42, I focus on what needs to be done.

Yup, it's definitely a tool of procrastination. Maybe I should have worded my question..."how do you overcome the tendency to procrastinate?" smile
      Thanks page 1 articles!

The first thing I do in the morning is turn on my laptop and then I make coffee. I check my email, read some news, look at facebook and then see if there are any new comments on HubPages. It has become such a habit for me that I do it almost in a subconscious state.

It is too easy to become sidetracked if I leave my laptop on and I have bills to pay, laundry to do, calls to make or household chores to perform. The best way to do these things is to simply turn off the computer and disconnect from cyber life in order to handle real life issues.

When my computer is calling me I go to it and sit down and do what I need to do. I do everything on my computer. It's all great fun.

Thanks, lisasuniquevoice! Do you also do laundry on your computer? If so, please give me step by step instructions? haha! smile
