How do you motivate yourself to exercise everyday?
I did my 3rd day of 20min exercises. I want to move up to 40-60minutes a day, but I can't find the motivation to do it. I will start of strong by soon as I get to 15 minutes I rush through the last 5 just to get it done and over with. I use music but it doesn't seem to help! Is there anyway I can make housework a great workout? I do a big clean every other day, usually for an hour. I want a way to burn tons of calories with out even realizing I'm doing it.
By just getting up to do it by not thinking about it to much. We often think ourselves out of many things we want to do. God Bless.
Keep on with the 20 min ones or even reduce to 15 min until it becomes comfortable for you before attempting to move up to 40 min.
What motivates me is results. I notice I have more energy throughout the day when I exercise regularly and have been losing some weight as well. This motivates me to keep exercising and recently I intensified my workouts after being encouraged by my results so far.
Keep at it!!
Why don't you watch a short movie while doing your exercise? It will definitely keep your mind off the timing so you will be able to do at least 30 minutes to burn extra calories. 20 minutes is just enough for standard warm-up and extra 10 minutes will start the burning of calories. Best if you can maintain 40 - 45 minutes of exercise that can really see good result.
Try to find some time for relaxation. First, you try recovering your energy by drinking warm diet tea with a spoon of honey.
Try to get some rest and have a good night. By doing that your more likely to achieve better dreams. If your body is in shape, then advanced techniques can be used to perfect the training you might even develop stronger bones and grow taller.
Also, try to recover during off hours. Don't wander about or try to resolve problems during periods like after work hours or at bedtime. Don't spend so much energy on time wasting things like too many hours on video games. At max 3-4 hours a day should be fine. Increase the intensity of your training by getting up earlier in the morning to begin your fitness program. Once you get used to strength training it is much easier to access that potential bone growth.
I need motivation too! I'll have a good week and then a bad week. If I'm stressed or tired after leaving work, forget it! My stomach pudge usually motivates me to a certain extent! LOL! I like Zumba! I guess we need to find something we really enjoy. Working out with friends may help, having accountability partners!
Motivation to exercise is one of the hardest things to find. Someone once told me that if you put your exercise clothes on without thinking, then your body will automatically motivate itself to go. I tried this out and it actually works. When I am off the computer and not doing anything important, I just go and change my clothes, and there you go, I am ready to run.
Hope this helps you go!
i keep the pictures of my favorite sportsmen and filmstars at hand for motivation. when i look at the chiselled bodies of david beckham, cameroon diaz, hiedi klum and evanjaline lily. i feel like jumping up and working out. i also find running very appealing so i read blogs written by ruunres. watching fitness regimes by zuzana and samara chopra makes me itch to start my workout. keep looking at the points where u want to get. if its a dress u want to fit in, or a race you have to run, or a trip, or your slim old image. whatever you are wanting to achieve will keep you motivated. stay motivated. also any new routine takes 21 days to set in, after that your body will form a habit. so , focus on that 21 day period and then you will see that you will WANT to work out , out of habit.
happy working out
Good question and useful replies... Helpful to me, thanks a lot.
I motivate myself by making a routine of exercising. I exercise after a chore I do everyday such as taking my child to school. Motivation comes from within and it is difficult to not say no to a task that takes physical effort. So I place myself in a position not to say no because exercising is a part of my daily routine. My son attends school everyday and I exercise everyday, as simple as that.
I don't want to be fanatical about it so I don't exercise every day.
I remembered, how people tease me. Then I wake up from the bed and go for the workout.
this is funny for me. I can't motivate myself. 2 weeks earlier i started doing exercise and i went only 4 days and the next day i didn't get up early morning.
I work out every day during my lunch hour with a friend from work. This has just become a habit, so I don't think about it at all. Once you establish a routine, you can just do it and it won't be hard work or take will power at all. And working out is fun! I am actually quite buff now after working out for 8 months.

Think about things or situations that are important to you. Thinking about your self confidence as well. If I'm feeling lazy, I think about figure skating in skimpy little dresses or leggings. At this time of year, many people think about how their body will look on the beach or by the pool. At any time of year, it's good to think about the positive health and self-confidence effects that you gain while exercising. Keep at it and best of luck to you.

I hear many people talk about wanting to exercise, get in shape, etc, but many of them talk about something they have no motivation to do. What motivates you to exercise, what discourages you?

What helps get you motivated to work out or exercise?Sometimes after a long day of class or work I have no energy to workout. I have my own motivators, but I'm curious as to what gets everyone else ready for a workout when you'd be almost as happy to crash on the sofa and unwind for a few hours.
