In regard to health insurance, what is the difference between POS and PPO plans?
Just remember that the PPO plan has a better health plan and options for you and generally better family plans. Covers preexisting illnesses.
POS - Piece O Shit. There are too many restrictions , copays are high and a lot of your doctors/hospital visits are not covered, especially preexisting. Not worth it!!!
LOL on the POS. That made me giggle, Sarra! :-)
LOL! POS! haha. How you described it is a good way to remember the difference, Sarra. Is it really that bad? I'm looking for insurance online since I'm self-employed and have none. Most seem to be POS!
Hello Victoria:
It looks like Sarra definitely gave you the correct definition, as well as the right assumption, between these 2 health plan options. If you have an option, you definitely want to go with the (PPO) plan-preferred provider organization. Rather than then the (POS)- or point of service plan. Even if it is a few dollars more. Also the(HMO)- Health maintenance organization plan, is a fairly good choice as well among consumers shopping for a health insurance plan, not offered by their employer.
