What is the difference between magnesium oxide and magnesium citrate?
Why is magnesium citrate so much more expensive than magnesium oxide?
Life or Death for some one with an allergy. lol just kiddin go to drugs.com and enter one search term at a time and compare.
Magnesium citrate is chelated for easier absorption, and assimilation for the body. Chelated means it is bound to a protein. When a mineral such as magnesium is ingested it is usually bound during digestion. So in essence by binding it, it can be used more readily by the body. That is why it is more expensive. Magnesium is a necessary nutrient and calming to the mind, and a good muscle relaxer as well.
