This is only my opinion. I believe holiness is being happy and joyful while living a life based on the morals as presented in the Bible. Plain happiness, on the other hand, can be found even when we pursue enjoyment in things which aren't morally acceptable to God.
For some there is no difference, for others a world of difference. It mainly depends on what we give ourselves to, what we love. There is an old quote that is something like, "Be careful about what you love." Understanding the difference between what offers enduring happiness and that which offers fleeting happiness is key to finding the answer.
