Has anyone tried Raspberry Ketones? Do they help weight loss and diabetes, or is it just hype?

I've heard that they really work.

I've also read that it is just one more so-called wonder drug that hasn't been fully tested and doesn't work.

As they are cheap(-ish), I've just bought a month's supply.  Am I just buying a placebo? Could it have any adverse effects?

It doesn't work. Studies in mice show no results, except for this study where mice are fed a high fat diet in conjunction with 2 percent raspberry ketones. They don't gain weight from the diet compared to placebo: http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/ar … 0505001281

The dosage given to those mice is 20 g/kg, so you would have to consume an incredibly large amount to see the effects that were present in the study.

Come back in a month's time to find out how my experiment goes

I'll look forward to it. If you're having no luck however, green tea is good and there are plenty of studies to show it works. It can increase fat burning by 5 %, which is about 700 extra calories burnt every week.

I've tried them for weight loss (along with many other "wonder supplements") and didn't get any results. I've done some research and haven't found any actual scientific data supporting their use for weight loss or diabetes in humans. From personal experience, they do nothing. I didn't experience any adverse effects after one month of taking them according to directions. However, I wouldn't recommend taking them as a dietary supplement.

It has been proven to work in some, every one is different. One of the "fat burners" . For other ones read my article about the various "fat burners" . They say that even at rest the body burns fat, only time will tell. Keep trying, don't give up.

I've lost 2 lbs after a month. Hard to say whether that was the raspberry ketones or not, as it was by no means spectacular.

I've bought some more to continue the experiment. I suppose even if the effect is just psychological, as long as it works, it works!

I am also drinking green tea and now adding green coffee bean capsules to the raspberry ketones, as recommended, to see if that works.  I suspect that giving up camembert and anything fatty or sweet would do the trick too!
