Can getting older make you slimmer?
I have noticed my weight seems to be dropping off quite easily, as I have gotten older. When I was younger, my weight wouldn't budge. Can aging actually regulate your hormones, and help you lose weight?
for most people, losing weight gets harder with age, because we lose muscle mass, which slows our metabolism. i would be worried about your weight loss if you're not dieting. a visit to the doctor may be in order.
I exercise to keep my weight under control, but I did when I was younger too, and the weight seemed to be harder to lose. I have PCOS so I was thinking maybe with age, my hormones are regulating themselves, I will give my doctor a little visit.
Generally speaking one's metabolism slows down with age.
Having said that if someone had "baby fat" in their youth they may notice their body becomes more tone during their 20s.
Oftentimes people change the types of food they eat after leaving childhood homes or they're more active than they were as teens.
For instance someone who loves to go out dancing in nightclubs is probably burning more calories than they did during their evenings at home as a teen. Passive activity is exercise we're unaware of.
If you've noticed significant weight loss without trying you may want to visit your doctor.
Dramatic weight loss is a symptom for many illnesses.
