Why do I laugh when others cry?
When my ex girlfriend/roommate is upset and crying or she starts talking about her feelings, I start laughing. I can't help but laugh. And I don't know why. However, when it comes to children and how they feel or why they are upset, I don't laugh at all. I only laugh when it's a family member or a friend or my ex. I try so hard not to laugh when my ex or someone I know crys, but it just comes out. I don't know what to do, to make myself stop laughing at serious situation. Maybe it's a defense technique?
Laughter can come from cognitive dissonance (that twist that makes you think that's weird), and it can come from relief that you aren't the one hurt. In your case, I'd say it is the latter.

Some times, we do not understand a joke. What do you do in such situation? Do you laugh just because others are laughing?

When was the last time you had a good laugh? In our world today, we see all the striff and turmoil around us that we become like stone, harden. Laughter has always been good medicine. When was the last time you laughed, not chuckled or gave a "ha ha", but a good hearty laugh?
