I was just wondering if the blanket lockdown around the world, and in the USA mainly as Hubpages is set there, will affect us on here? Will it carry on, get paid at the same time, and so on? I hope so but totally understand if you do have problems.

Hi Nell. We are not in lockdown here in my little town. School is still going and Walmart is open, but who knows? One case will put do it. I do not know about payment. Stay safe.

Hi Ruby, It will be good as long as possible to stay open and be able to get out. It's the over 70s at the moment over here being advised to stay in, not a law just yet. I am 60 so okay at the moment. I went to the chemist a while ago and the staff all wore masks and gloves, brought it home to me!

I’m 72  and have been self-isolating  for over 2 weeks -as far as is possible with an adult child sharing my house. I get outside to do some gardening, weather permitting. leave home only for solitary walks in the nearby nature park. Keeping in touch with family and friends through FaceTime,WhatsApp,telephone. It’s been fine, so far.

My sister, age 68, had all the symptoms of the virus but was not sick enough for testing/hospitalisation. She says it was similar to flu and that the cough is the worst thing. Recovering well.

          Keep Calm and Carry On

Glenis, my husband had all the symptoms of COVID-19 in early February before the U.S. acknowledged any cases. We called it the flu, but he had no symptoms of a cold or real flu in his head. We both had our flu shots. I went to the doctor for a regular checkup and was feeling fine, but he discovered that I had a fever of 101.4. My normal temp. is 97.6. I was talking to some more Americans in a specialty group on Facebook, and they were saying they had the virus symptoms as far back as last summer. A bunch of us are wondering if we've had the virus and may be immune to at least the original, unmutated version. But I guess we'll never know because they aren't testing for that. They should because they might be able to use our blood to manufacture a vaccine.

I share your views, Doris. My son flew via Schiphol airport toward the end of January and then drove across Holland to a job close to the German border. I remember that subsequently we were both quite unwell for a few days. The sooner antibody testing kits are available, the better.

I got quite down in the dumps at the weekend because the supermarket which normally delivers to me has closed its booking system - all slots are booked for 3 months!  On top of that the son who lives with me was sent home from work with symptoms on Friday.

As 70+ have been asked to self isolate for 12 weeks, my only human contact now is via WhatsApp groups and phone, and speaking through a closed bedroom door..But life goes on - the  sun shone yesterday and I spent several hours gardening. Very sorry for people who live in apartments and don’t have that option.

Looks like U.K. gov will pass legislation today enabling them to force total lockdown. We are in this for the long haul. Seems it will be a year before a vaccine is available.

Take care, stay healthy, and keep smiling,

      Hi Nell,

Most of our work can be performed remotely, so there is no need to worry. Should be business as usual!

Good afternoon miss Nell Rose. I live in North Miami. Some business are closed. Some are open short hours, so the staff can go home and keep their lives, homes clean and organized. I am resting my legs after doing so many people until Monday. I already check myself at the Dr lab. I am okay. I am a hairstylist too beside being a writer. I went to see the owner of the hair salon; I work. He is doing fine. God bless him. Anyways, my work is closed. People prepared with their hair too. How are you doing.? It will pass. I found so many things to do at home.
