I was hurt on the job on Saturday, an angry patient punched me in the rib on my left side, about a few inches or so below the breast area.. It was towards the side though, because he came at me sideways from my left. My job sent me to the hospital, I saw a doctor and they took x-rays... they said nothing is broken and that its just bruising, it should heel within a week. He prescribed me motrin 800mg.
On the first day, I couldn't walk to fast without feeling an ache. Now, this is my 2nd day, I can walk a little quicker. I still have to be careful when sitting down/getting up, i can also feel it when i cough, blow my nose, laugh too hard or clear my throat. Other than that, I can do everything else, even touch my toes. There was no discoloration on the skin but a good deal of the area felt "numb", it's still there today but a tiny bit less.
Has anyone experienced this before?
