Make a handmade keychain for him so that he could remember this special gift is from you.

You can also buy unique keychain at most book stores and department stores as they are cheap and eyecatching too.

Led lights keychain, useful tools convertible keychains and Zodiac sign keychains are great gifts for dad.

However, I don't think my dad would like the cute ones. Get the useful keychain for him to use.

If your dad has a hobby in reading magazines, newspapers and books, try to find out his favorite topic or subject that he is keen in reading.

If you are into scrap booking, make scrapbook for dad's hobby by cutting out recipes from old magazines or newspapers and print out some new recipes.

Paste them into your scrapbook which you can buy from bookstores and low budget stores that sell scrapbooks at a very low price with beautiful covers and pages.

Cut out the printed recipes and pictures into unique shapes. Paste them into the scrapbook. Repeat the same procedures for cut out recipes from old magazines and newspapers. Ensure that the papers are still readable , not fragile or crumpled.

5) Handmade Crafts

Look around departmental stores and gift shops for cheap handmade crafts made from seashells, wooden photo frames painted in rainbow colors and decorate objects from recycled items.

Buy what your dad needs, NOT WHAT YOU WANT.

Many people fancy cute decorations and stuff but may not suit your dad, maybe due to his age , he doesn't know how to use it or he doesn't need it either.

Eventually, dad might put the unsuitable handmade craft on the shelf to collect cobwebs and dust.

Hence, look around dad’s desk and survey what item is essential for him.

  • If he uses an empty jar to keep his writing tools, buy a nicely decorated pencil holder for dad.
  • If he uses a box to keep spare coins or handphone, buy a recycled moneybox or money bowl for the spare coins and attractive handphone holder for him.

Photo Frames

Most handphone comes with built in tiny camera with high mega pixel which produces high quality and stunning photos.

7) Give Dad a Cheap Treat

Dad is always busy with work, earning hard earned money everyday. He always put his family interest first, very often neglected himself without realizing it.

I am sure you would agree with me that dad pays almost all the expenses at home, education for kids and health insurances to cover the whole family.

This Father's Day will be a great day for you to offer your dad a day out for a cheap treat at any cheap menus restaurant or hawker stalls which is among your budget.

Dad doesn't mind even if it is an ice-cream treat or a tea for two. It's the thought that counts.

You can take dad to lunch or dinner at roti-prata shop or have a tea-time together by the roadside stall and have a good long chat with him.

Buy him a slice of his favorite cake to surprise him. I am sure he will blushed with rosy cheeks.

Dads are always shy with surprises. Keep in mind that dad wants you to spend more time with him rather than how much the treat cost.

Anyway, do INSIST that you treat him.

8) Give Flowers

Flowers are a timeless old favorite gift for Mother's Day, Valentine's Day and even Father's Day. You may be surprised that some dads love to receive flowers too, even though dad has a manly figure at home.

Giving flowers doesn't mean it is a girlish act or embarrassing gift for him.

Flowers can be bought in a bouquet, s stalk or a small potted plant for gardening. Flowers help to brighten up his desk, his feelings and put a smile on his tired face.

Buy flowers that matches his favorite color or that give fragrant scents.

You can buy them at nursery farm or flower orchard for cheap price as shopping centre sells flowers at a high price with special packaging and gifts, especially on special occasion.

After you have bought the flowers, wrap them up beautifully with transparent gift wrapper and tie with a ribbon. Remember to include a Father's Day card with a Father's Day quote. A great gift for dad.

There are tons of recipe websites to choose from depending on what dish you are looking for.

Download the recipe into your handphone or print it out so that it will be easier for you to follow the instructions when you are in the kitchen.

Choose the recipe with the least ingredients and has the shortest cooking time.

Get your mom to help you out while tell your siblings to bring your dad out for a walk so that you could whip up the tasty dish for him.

Your dad will be glad to see his child taking the initiative to cook his favorite dish.

This will be a happy reunion for the family and precious memories that money cannot buy.

10) Watch a Movie Together

When dad is not reading newspaper, he will be either sleeping, watching television programme or in the garden. Grab this opportunity to watch a movie together with your dad. You can watch a movie in the local cinema or rent his favorite movie from DVD rental shops.

However, do ask your mom what is dad's favorite movie so that he could enjoy the movie with you. If you choose the latest movie in the market, it might be his cup of tea. Dad may be falling asleep in the cinema instead!

Otherwise, download the movie from the Internet, connect your notebook or computer to your home 40" , 50" or 60" LCD television and enjoy the movie with pop corns and sodas! It is advisable for you to ensure that your LCD television and notebook settings matches or else your dad will be tired of waiting for you to fix up the mess.

You could convert the movie into suitable video format and burnt the movie into DVD discs which your DVD player accepts. This way, dad could watch his favorite movie anytime he wants, best gift that he had ever wanted.

Making the scrapbook and sweets are great ideas. I like those two the best. Food can never go wrong, and there is nothing like a sentimental gift of giving your father photos of the old days, or new ones of your life.
