Flowers With The Color Theme
Make Your Day Special
Weddings are all about making memories. I recently attended a wedding full of memorable touches that made it special! Adding special touches to a wedding can enhance those moments and add color and interest to the photos. Friends and family members will remember those lspecial decorating statements when they think back on that special day. Let me share some of those special touches that made the day special!
To begin with, flowers are wonderful decorating tools. Flowers can easily accentuate the chosen color scheme. Whether real or artificial, flowers add beauty wherever they are placed.
Flowers from the rehearsal dinner or bridal shower can be used during the service or at the reception without further costs. Add some pearls or fabric or ribbon around the base of the container to soften the visual effects.
Wedding Program Ideas

Our son was married just a few weeks ago. Two days before the wedding, some family and friends gathered for dinner. We used this time to prepare the wedding programs. The bride chose to tie tulle bows at the top of the page. Some of the men cut the material and the ladies tied the bows. It took just a few minutes to assemble the programs while we chatted.
The day of the wedding, the programs were arranged on silver trays and placed by the door for the guests. They made an elegant display with scattered pearls placed underneath.
Bird Cage For Cards

It is important to provide that special place for cards and gifts at the wedding reception. A large table is an excellent choice because wedding gifts can come in rather large packages.
At our son's wedding, a bird cage was placed on the table for the cards. I thought it was a clever idea! It looked elegant with the tulle and pearls wrapped around it.
Classy Candles

A baby grand piano can provide a focal point of decoration, lending to the general atmosphere of the event. Candles are always welcome touches to a wedding and/or reception. A special tray or mirror can be used for the base of a candle display. A collection of inexpensive glass candle holders can be randomly placed on your chosen surface. Use eight to ten holders, depending on the size of your display. If you have rolls of tulle, wind it loosely around the candles to soften your display. Sprinkle some pearls amidst the candle holders and add candles for a warm candle arrangement. When the pianist is tickling the ivory keys with a wedding march, they will have a romantic backdrop of light.
For The Wedding Ceremony

Many weddings have a unity candle ceremony as part of the event. I have attended many weddings with the unity candles placed on pretty tables, but I could not see the candle holders From where aI was seated. The holders were usually flat and not visible to the audience.
I like these candle holders for several reasons. They accent the pearl theme in the wedding. The outside of each container is covered with pearls. As the candles are lighted, they are protected from falling off of the table and the dripping candle wax falls safely inside the vase. The table cloth is protected from wax mishaps!
The Bride's Table

Have you ever seen a tablecloth made of woven ribbon? A precious friend of the bride's family spent a few hours carefully weaving ribbon for this table. Colors were selected to complement the overall color scheme. As I remember, this friend taped the ribbon at the edge of the table to hold it in place while she worked.
Various widths of ribbon were used to cover the table. If you look closely, you will see the ribbon variations. It was a special touch on that special table! The groom's table had a few strands of ribbon across it to carry out the theme!
Notice the pearls on the cake? Pearls were placed on tables, around candles and even on two wreaths hanging on the front doors of the building, an important element of the decorations.
Martha Stewart Ideas

What would we do without Martha Stewart? She has some amazing kits for sale. These flowers were used for the reception and were placed on the individual tables in the reception hall. A very special lady spent many hours with Martha Stewart to produce some gorgeous flowers and a special touch to the wedding. In addition, the reception hall was decorated with large paper mache flowers that hung from the ceilings, compliments of Martha Stewart. Several of us made the colorful decorations gathered for dinner two nights before the wedding. They were so much fun to create! They were similar in color to the flowers and added a flair and festive touch to the dance floor.

As you can tell, the wedding I attended was an important one. Our son married a wonderful woman and we couldn't be happier. Remembering those historic moments is so important to all of us. The bride and her mother were very creative and did lots of research for the decorations. I applaud their efforts and will treasure the pictures in my memory for many years!
