wow yes i do.snow on the ground, and relatives stopping by. the trees outside more beautiful than the one inside. the food, thats the big one. so much food and so many different dishes. the meats consisted of rabbit, moose, deer, bear and some beef and chicken. the hunts before thanksgiving that went through december. the time i spent with great grandpa out in the woods. the stories from all the elders that told our history as a family for many past generations.
it seems all that is gone and some fat dude in a red suit just wants you to spend the almighty dollar for what people now call gifts. what could be more precious than a gentle hug, and some great food with people you love.
    go figure

Holidays  with my parents in the 1950s consisted of either camping or in a caravan going abroad wasn't even thought of, how things have changed. But do we enjoy the holidays anymore now than then.
