Eight years ago my family got together to celebrate the first Christmas we'd had since we were kids. We'd all been in different countries doing our thing. The parents, hubbies, wives and the grandparents were there. A total of 19. I was dreading it, expecting the worst.
I spent the most wonderful day watching my siblings and their loved ones laugh, tease and be merry. My family. My parents and grandparents wore funny hats and drank too much wine. I realized for the first time in my life that I didn't just love my family. I adored them.
I don't have any, when I found out Santa Claus didn't really exist my world has been crushed ever since.
