A birthday is celebrated just like the western countries however the age 3,5,7 as very special for children. They are celebration traditional with Yukata (similar to Kimono) and go to the shrine.

What is your favorite way to celebrate a birthday...Whether it's your birthday or some one else's...I think we should never allow a birthday to pass without having cake or pie with candles to make a wish.
