Happy Friendship Day. Do you celebrate it today?
We are celebrating our Friendship Day today, ie. the first Sunday of August month each year.
So, I wish you all my friends a very very "Happy Friendship Day" and my blessings.
I didn't even know Friendship day exists until now so no, I don't celebrate it.
Sorry to know, Jonas. United Nations has declared July 30th as World Friendship Day in the year 2011. Prior to that different countries celebrated it on different dates and months.
But now many countries celebrate it on first Sunday of August yearly
I've never heard of "Friendship Day" either, but what a wonderful idea! Is it always celebrated on August 2? Or is it always the first Sunday in August? Sounds like a great topic for a hub!
Sounds like a great opportunity to expression your admiration for someone you care about.
I had not heard of this celebration. Thank you for sharing this with us, and allow me to say "Happy Friendship Day" to you as well. I think of you often and pray you are well.
Thank you so much Venkat sir for the kind remembrance. May God bless you too and keep you always in good health. Didn't celebrate today but just remembered our HubPages friends like you.
How many of these "special days" do we really need. It is annoying to say the least.
It depends upon you. Some like special days and others may not. But every day is a special day for us even if you celebrate or not. It should be a good thing to enjoy instead of keeping dull and experiencing loneliness or depression. https://www.days
Here is a link to a site giving the full list of celebration events for each day of the Calendar. You can view them by clicking a month and then clicking the navigation arrow for each date in small windows. https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/2015/08/
I am posting this link for Kevin Goodwin especially in response to his comment.

Do you have a winter holiday tradition that brings you the most joy each year? On or around December 6th, St. Nicholas Day, my family (husband and daughter) and I trim our tree while listening to our favorite Christmas CD's, sipping eggnog and eating chestnuts roasted in our oven. Then we...
