What is your favorite new Christmas tradition that you have started with your children?

We love to go out for Chinese dinner on Christmas Eve and then have tamales for Christmas dinner. My husband & I started this tradition when we were first married.

    'snow on toast'.

i think my favourite is the french toast that we eat together as a family in the morning---gotta be with powdered sugar though, 'cuz that's what makes it 'christmassy'

I don't have children yet and have been constantly traveling for the last few years. So I haven't had a chance to do this yet but I think everyone should consider it.

Instead of the regular, "Christmas tree"- which I think is a terrible waste. I want to buy a large potted tree every year and decorate that, preferably fruit. We would then learn about how to take care of this tree together and then plant it in the garden in spring. Adding a new tree to our forest every year. If every family did that for the holiday instead of participating in the killing of a tree, the world would be better off.

meganlsmith3 I like your Christ's Stocking tradition!  What a great way to remember the real reason for Christmas.

SherryDigital, what a great idea!  I miss the smell of real Christmas trees since we have a plastic tree.  However, I agree with you about adding a new tree.  That would be such a fun idea for the family.

smzclark, yummm!  Powdered sugar is the best on french toast.  Do you add cinnamon too?  Snow toast!  LOVE it!
